What is the maximum weight the SmarTrike Xtend Scooter can support?
The frame is rated to a maximum rider weight of 50 kg, making it suitable for children from age 3 all the way through to 12 years. The rear foot brake and wide stable footboard are designed to handle this weight at each of the three deck-length settings.
How do the LED wheels on the Xtend Scooter work - do they need batteries?
The two front wheels use motion-activated LED technology that lights up automatically as the wheels spin - no batteries are required and there is no on/off switch to manage. The lights activate whenever the scooter is rolling, adding visibility in lower-light conditions.
How do you change the footboard length as a child grows?
A button on the underside of the deck releases the footboard so it can slide to the next length setting; two Allen keys (included) then lock it securely in place. The three settings correspond roughly to ages 3-6 (Stage 1), 6-9 (Stage 2), and 9-12 (Stage 3), as shown in the product images.
