Cookie Policy
A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to keep, so the site can recognise your visit as it moves from page to page.
What we use
One cookie. It holds your session, which is what keeps items in your basket and keeps you signed in while you shop. Without it the basket would empty on every page.

- Purpose: keeps your basket and your sign-in during a visit
- Type: strictly necessary
- Expires: when you close your browser, or after 30 days if you asked us to remember you
A strictly necessary cookie does not require your consent, because the site cannot provide what you asked for without it. We do not use it to track you and it holds no personal information beyond a reference to your session.
Analytics, if you say yes
Analytics, and only if you say yes. We would like to use Google Analytics to see which pages are useful and which are not. It sets its own cookies, none of it is necessary for the shop to work, and it is entirely your choice.
- Names: _ga and _ga_<id>, set by Google Analytics
- Purpose: counts visits and which pages get used
- Type: analytics, and NOT set unless you accept
- Expires: up to two years
Nothing analytics-related loads before you choose. Not loaded and disabled - not present on the page at all. If you decline, no Google script is fetched and no analytics cookie is set.
Advertising, if you say yes to that as well
Separately from analytics, we would like to use Google Ads. It measures which of our adverts led to a sale, and it lets Google show our adverts to people who have visited the shop. This is a different question from analytics and the banner asks it separately: you can accept analytics and refuse advertising, and the shop works the same either way.

- Purpose: measures our advertising and shows our adverts elsewhere
- Type: advertising, and NOT set unless you accept advertising
- Expires: up to 90 days
We use no third-party advertising cookies. No ad network you have never heard of drops a cookie here, and nothing on this site hands your browsing to another advertiser. What Google Ads sets, if you accept advertising, is a first-party cookie that measures our own adverts.
If you accepted analytics before we began advertising, that answer covers analytics only. You were asked about analytics and nothing else, so we do not read it as covering advertising: the banner asks you again.
Your answer is remembered in a cookie named consent, so we do not ask again on every page. That one has no permission of its own: remembering that you said no is what honouring your no requires.
Changing your mind
There is a Cookie choices button in the footer of every page. It clears your answer and asks again, so a yes is as easy to undo as it was to give.
Controlling cookies
You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings. If you block the session cookie, you will still be able to browse, but the basket and sign-in will not work.
Payment
Payment happens on a secure hosted page provided by our payment provider. That page sets its own cookies, which are necessary for the payment to work and for fraud prevention, and are governed by the provider's own policy.
