What is included in the Buki Rocket Science kit?
The kit contains a rocket body, safety plug, filter, 3 foam fins, 3 fin supports, double-sided adhesive strips, citric acid, sodium bicarbonate, measuring spoon, stirrer, funnel, bowl, glow-in-the-dark stickers, a rockets history poster, protective goggles, and a colour illustrated instruction booklet. No additional ingredients are needed for the first launch.
How long does it take for the rocket to launch after fuelling?
Once fuelled with the citric acid and bicarbonate of soda mixture and fitted with the safety stopper, the rocket is placed on its launch pad and typically lifts off within 30 seconds to 2 minutes. Keep a safe distance and watch for take-off - it can reach heights of up to 15 metres.
Can the rocket be launched more than once?
The rocket body and all plastic components are reusable. After each flight, simply allow the filter bag to dry fully, then reload with fresh citric acid and bicarbonate of soda - household bicarbonate of soda and white vinegar can be used as a top-up once the supplied chemicals run out. Adult supervision is required for every launch.
