The AR system lets the go kart coast freely when the child stops pedalling - so riding downhill is safe because the pedals do not spin with the wheels. It also allows instant switching between forward and reverse pedalling without stopping to manually engage a gear.
The Ferbedo Racing Edition sound steering wheel requires 3 x AAA batteries, which are not included in the box. The rest of the kart - pedals, brakes, tyres, and frame - is entirely mechanical and needs no batteries to operate.
