The SES Creative Glow in the Dark Scary Animals Casting and Painting Kit lets children create a collection of spooky plaster figures, each hiding a glowing secret. Kids mix the included plaster powder with water, pour it into the detailed mould, and wait for it to set hard before popping out their creepy crawly figures. The mould features a variety of scary animals, including a spider, a scorpion, and a piranha. Once the figures are ready, children decorate them using the six included paint colours before applying a coat of special glow-in-the-dark paint for a striking finish.

This casting and painting kit brings a satisfying final reveal – turn out the lights and watch the finished figures glow. The set covers every stage of the craft process, from mixing and moulding through to painting and displaying the completed scary animals. Produced by SES Creative, the kit introduces children to plaster casting in a hands-on way that adds genuine excitement with the luminous effect. Everything needed to complete the project is included in the box, making it straightforward for children to work through from start to finish.

Frequently Asked Questions

The reusable mould sheet contains 11 creature designs, including a spider on a web, a scorpion, a piranha, a salamander, a moth, a centipede, a beetle, a woodlouse, a fly, a tick and a stag beetle. Because the mould is reusable, children can cast the full set multiple times as long as plaster mix is available.
SES Creative formulates this plaster to dry quickly - most casts are firm enough to remove from the mould and begin painting within approximately 30 minutes, though allowing a full hour ensures the models are fully hardened before detail painting begins.
The paint used in this kit meets European toy safety standards (EN 71) and is confirmed by SES Creative to wash easily from skin and textiles. The glow-in-the-dark paint should be applied as a topcoat over the standard colours, then charged under a bright light for the best luminous effect.
