The Onesea Shark is a children's buoyancy aid swimsuit that replaces three separate items – armbands, a sun hat, and a UV swimsuit – in a single zip-up suit. The body is made from 84% polyester and 16% elastane fabric rated UPF 50+, blocking 98% of UV rays across the whole torso, arms and legs. A built-in shark hood extends that UV cover to the head and neck, while the bright blue and lime scale print makes children easy to spot in the water. Sixteen EPE foam buoyancy aids are sewn into the chest and back panels.
This children's buoyancy aid swimsuit is sized for 12 months and suits babies beginning to gain water confidence. The front zip makes dressing quick even with a wriggling toddler, and the foam panels are designed to be removed once a child reaches 3 to 4 years and no longer needs the buoyancy support. The suit comes packaged in a reusable EVA beach bag that doubles as a wet-kit bag. Hand wash in warm water to maintain the foam and fabric. Note: this suit is a buoyancy aid for swimming instruction and does not protect against drowning – adult supervision is required at all times.

Frequently Asked Questions

The suit contains 16 removable EPE foam buoyancy panels sewn into the chest and back, certified to BS EN 13138-1:2021 - the same UK water safety standard that governs wearable buoyant aids for swimming instruction. Parents do not need to fit separate armbands, though adult supervision is required at all times as the suit is a buoyancy aid, not a lifejacket.
The foam panels are designed to be removed when a child reaches 3 to 4 years and has built enough water confidence to swim without buoyancy assistance. Each panel pulls out through a zip opening in the suit lining, leaving the UPF 50+ swimsuit and shark hood fully intact for continued use as sun protection.
The 12-month suit is sized for babies at that age and weight range - check Onesea's size guide for exact chest and height measurements before ordering. Care is straightforward: hand wash in warm water and allow to air dry. Machine washing or tumble drying can degrade the EPE foam panels and the UPF fabric rating over time.
