The puzzle is recommended from age 2 upwards. The 10 chunky wooden pieces are sized for small hands, and the shaped cut-outs provide straightforward, self-correcting feedback that suits toddlers and pre-schoolers in equal measure.
The number pieces sit flush within their cut-out spaces rather than having knobs or pegs. Numbers with enclosed holes - such as 0, 6, 8 and 9 - are easiest to lift by slipping a finger through the gap, while solid digits like 1, 2 and 7 require a little pincer-grip practice, which in itself is good for fine motor development.
Each Goki puzzle board is a self-contained set, so the number pieces are not interchangeable with other Goki puzzle ranges. The board does, however, make a natural companion to Goki's alphabet puzzle, which follows the same flat inlay-board format and identical board dimensions.
