The set contains 8 pieces in total - a wooden base board and 7 brightly coloured cogwheels in a variety of sizes. Each gear slots onto a peg on the board, and the large blue crank wheel drives all the others when turned.
There are multiple ways to place the gears on the board, but only certain arrangements will result in all the cogs turning at once when the handle is cranked. Working out which configuration locks every wheel into motion is the core puzzle challenge, making it a replayable activity rather than a one-time solve.
